Kathy has been with First Baptist since 2002, holding a business degree in management from Jacksonville State University, also attending the University of Alabama along the way.

Hers is a blended family, marrying Ken Brasfield in 2013. A mom, stepmom, and grandmother, Kathy’s world changed in 2013 when her then 17-year-old son Brock lost his life in an accident along the Cahaba River. She is picture of God’s goodness and faithfulness in the wake of tragedy, displaying His undeniable strength and presence in her life. Ken and Kathy have 5 children together; Braxton & Kaitlin Bowman – children – Jackson, Collins, & Wyatt; Cody & Caitlyn Brasfield – children – Anna Gray; Luke & Erica Brasfield – children – Adaline; and sweet Anna Brasfield.

The mother of two boys, her life has always centered on sports and exercising. She is compassionate about exercising, feeling great and eating healthy. If you want to join in exercise, she will meet you in the gym. She enjoys cheering on the Huskies and the Crimson Tide, exercising, being outdoors, reading, going to the beach, watching her grandchildren play sports and cheer, and serving in church.
