Carrie Jones
Special Needs Ministry Coordinator
Carrie is a graduate of Hewitt-Trussville, but grew up in Baytown, Texas. A graduate of the University of Alabama, she finished with a Master of Arts in Exceptional Education in 1996.
Carrie’s passion is working alongside individuals with exceptional needs (and their families). Her professional focus has long been preparing students as they mature at the secondary education level and helping them make strides towards participating in life after high school in the most independent and fulfilling way possible. Equally important to her is helping people gain an understanding of how to best help individuals with disabilities as they transition into the community, participate in employment, community life, recreational activities, civic organizations, and programs such as Independence Place.
A mother of two, Carrie enjoys watching her daughter glorify God by serving as a nurse at UAB and spending time with her son as he navigates his college path at UAH.
