Week 4 - Sacrifice for the Next Generation

So even to old age and gray hairs, O God, do not forsake me, until I proclaim your might to another generation, your power to all those to come. - Psalm 71:18

This verse is a passionate plea to God for strength and guidance, even in old age. The psalmist acknowledges the unavoidability and reality of old age and the challenges that come with it. Yet also expresses a need to continue to serve and glorify God throughout life, so that the next generation might see our faithfulness to God and choose to follow Him.

Dear Lord, please help me:

• Not waste the experiences You have allowed me to go through.
• Leave a legacy consistent with Your Word that the generations to come will learn of God’s power and righteousness.
• Make the study of Your word a priority in my life.
• Use the phrases and vocabulary of the Scriptures to pray and praise God.
